Penelope is the founder of three startups, most recently Brazen Careerist, a Web service to help companies locate hard-to-find find job candidates. Prior to Brazen Careerist, Penelope worked at marketing for a Fortune 500 company, played professional beach volleyball, worked on a French chicken farm and spent time in a mental ward to control her bulimia. She's written candidly about all those experiences, as well surviving 9/11 -- she writes that she was "standing at the bottom of the World Trade Center when it fell" -- and the end of her marriage, and her post-marriage dating and sex life.
