Mon, 6 April 2009 Missed our interview Sunday with some of the cast and creative team behind the Web sitcom The Guild? No problem. We streamed the video live on Ustream.tv and you can watch it here. Felicia Day, Sandeep Parikh, and Jeff Lewis joked around and talked with the Copper Robot -- that's me, Mitch Wagner -- about what goes on behind the scenes in the creation of the show, the fate of Season 3 (short version: it's up in the air) and the story-behind-the-story of how the show was born. The first 18 minutes are pre-show, with a little interesting conversation between our guests and a lot of long silences, "Where's Jeff?" "Where's Mitch?" and random loud noises. Then the show starts and things move right along. World2Worlds, which hosts Copper Robot, really went all out this time -- Rissa Maidstone created terrific avatars for all the actors, making them look like the characters in the game-within-a-show on The Guild. "It's meta-meta-meta," Felicia said during the interview, noting that the Second Life avatars were created based on drawings done by a fan. World2Worlds also did a great job managing the larger-than-normal crowd, which strained server capacity, and providing assistance to the three actors, who were in Second Life for their first time. And World2Worlds provided video streaming and audio recording. I'm exhausted just describing what they did. I'm working on editing the audio-only podcast, and plan to get that posted here later this week. You'll be the first to know. blog comments powered by Disqus Category: general -- posted at: 11:11 PM |
